Teachable Moments
Parents involved in the process of raising their children to become men and women of integrity and honesty are individuals who recognize and seize upon teachable moments.
The President of this nation addressed our children on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, exemplifying the success of working hard in school, even in the face of adversity, while extolling the virtues of higher education.
Although enlightening, the idea of success as a reward for hard work under difficult circumstances is not a new theme.
Unfortunately, there is a significant teachable moment that President Obama was unable to share with the student of our country. It is a life lesson, however, that parent’s nationwide instruct their children on every day, every month, every year.
Your actions and associations in the present will become the history upon which you are judged in the future.
President Obama instructed us to judge him by those who surround him; those who advise him; those who have been a part of his life. Names and organizations twist and whorl around his persona.
Cabalistic Obama advisors and associates include:
Rahm Emanuel, Chief of Staff, who advocates the Alinsky teaching of never wasting the opportunity in a crisis,
Eric Holder, Attorney General, who advocated pardoning Marc Rich and is now on a CIA witch hunt,
William Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground, who believes their bombings didn’t go far enough, and
Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for 20 years, who begged God to damn America.
President Obama had aligned himself with Organizing for America, Acorn, SEIU, The Apollo Alliance, followers of Saul Alinsky and a number of controversial Czars.
Van Jones, recently resigned Green Jobs Czar, is a self described Marxist/Anarchist who believes that white owned companies purposefully pollute black neighborhoods to injure the residents; he was a signer of the petition put forth that accused the U.S. Government of being involved in the 9/11 attacks; and a speaker who repeatedly refers to any Republican as assholes.
Carol Browner, Energy and Environment Czar, is a Socialist who believes in “global governance”.
John Holdren, Science Czar, proposed mandatory sterilization and compulsory abortions as methods of population control in his late 70’s book.
Cass Sustein, Regulatory Czar, believes animals should have lawyers.
Upon receiving fire for the numerous video’s on You Tube and his Marxist philosophy, Van Jones asked that those issues be discounted because they happened before he arrived at the White House.
That request is impossible.
Here it is; the teachable moment.
We cannot discount Jones’ speeches, his articles, his books or his blogs because HIS future has arrived. And the history of his actions and associations are being judged in the present. Today.
Likewise, President Obama was unable to take advantage of an historic opportunity when speaking to our children. Although he was able to extol the virtues of education, it would have been impossible for him to engage in the teachable moment of actions and associations.
Like Van Jones and many others who surround the President, Obama’s past actions and associations are now the history upon which he is presently being judged.
President Obama’s chickens just may have come home to roost.
Now, there’s a teachable moment.

I'm one of those people who called my school board. We do teachable moments in the home and don't expect them in the school
