Run Away! Run Away!

Well-Dressed Astro-turfing Mobs Are Coming!

And President Obama did just that. He ran away. Jetting to Minnesota, he left town to give a repetitious health care speech to approximately 15,000 people.

Left behind in Washington, D.C., protesters from all parts of the country gathered to share their concerns about the policies of this man’s government. Hundreds of thousands of them. The newest estimates are coming in at just under a million people.

So, let’s see. He visits 15,000. Ignores almost a million. Nothing good can come from this comparison for Barack Obama.

Liberty Forged didn’t expect President Obama or his inner circle to come out to the podium and say something profound like; "We feel your pain". And we suspect neither did most of the people standing on the mall last Saturday.

Why can we say that with some certainty? Because the Washington, D.C. protesters are realists. While they were preparing for their trip, running to Wal-Mart for the poster boards, markers and snacks for the road; gassing up, getting the neighbor to watch Fido and making sure they didn’t forget the video camera and grandma, they didn’t once say "I wonder if Michelle will come out with him?"

From our prospective, President Obama, his administration and the House and Senate Democrats should take note of two things.

First, Saturday’s protesters learned that their concerns are shared by many more than they ever anticipated. Every person on the Mall in Washington represents thousands of like-minded citizens who couldn’t make the trip. That knowledge is more empowering than Obama and his people can ever imagine.

Second, empowered people vote! The Democratic House and Senate should be prepared for the fight of their political careers. People who will put forth the effort to travel all the way to Washington, D.C. to let their voices be heard, can be counted on to get in the family SUV and drive the several blocks it takes to get to their polling center.

The vote of 2010 will be one of the most important ballots this country ever casts! Liberty Forged will do everything possible to be certain that our readers are informed when they close the curtain of their voting booth.

It's obvious to many Americans that "Changes" are needed, but I think people are now starting to realize that these so called "changes" coming from this administration are not making the country better, only hurting it. These protests are a pure indication that the people of the country still hold the real power, which is exactly how the founding fathers originally intended it to be.

I am amazed at the President's attitude. You're right about the 2010 election. Great article.
